Behind the Scenes: The Making of 26 Seconds
Writing “26 Seconds” was a labor of love seventeen years in the making.
Yes, there was a lot of writing — but what you don’t see are the countless hours behind the curtain: the editing and re‑editing, the revising, the classes, the writers’ retreats, the moments of inspiration, and the moments of staring into space wondering if this dream would ever take flight. ![]()
There were seasons of writer’s block. Seasons of imposter syndrome. Seasons where I shelved the project entirely. I changed the title along the way. I rewrote chapters I thought were finished. And then I rewrote them again. Did I mention the editing? ![]()
Somewhere along the way, I learned to trust the messy process — the twists, the detours, the unexpected breakthroughs. Looking back now, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Every struggle, every pause, every revision shaped the book into what it needed to become in order for it to finally take off and soar. ![]()
