Rossana D’Antonio is committed to advocating for the design of safe and sustainable infrastructure to ensure the protection of the public. As Deputy Director for Los Angeles County Public Works, the largest public works agency in the nation, she leveraged her experience in infrastructure design and emergency management to augment her knowledge of how complex systems work and how deficient infrastructure can result in disasters.
As part of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Rossana advocates for infrastructure investments including the Federal Aviation Authority Reauthorization. The bill increases funding for aviation infrastructure and advances the safe and efficient delivery of aviation projects.
In 2020, D’Antonio was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to the California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists where she currently works to ensure the protection of the public with competent and ethical professional services. In 2024, she was appointed to serve on the President’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council’s Disaster Response and Resiliency Committee. D’Antonio is a Fellow with the American Society of Civil Engineers and is serving as a member of the Board of Directors.
Rossana is a member of the Women’s Media Center SheSource, a brain trust for media experienced experts. She has been featured as a guest on radio, digital media, and is published in print and online. D’Antonio is often featured as a speaker at conferences most recently as keynote at CONVERGE: An Immersive Experience in Transdisciplinary Societal Problem Solving.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Fresno State and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Rossana holds dual registrations in the State of California in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering. She is also credentialed as an Envision Sustainability Professional with the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, providing a globally recognized approach to the design of safe and sustainable infrastructure.
Shaped by her Italian and Salvadoran parents, D’Antonio is deeply committed to family which serves as the foundation for her commitment in creating environments where everyone feels safe and protected.
She finds peace in Malibu where she resides with her husband, Freddie, and puppy, Luna.
